Democratic chair course

Green woodworking intensive chair course. We will focus on making a chair, beginning with a log. We use traditional working methods, and hand tools, to create a Windsor style chair much the way they did in the 18th Century. 

The Democratic Chair, was designed by Tennessee Windsor Chair maker Curtis Buchanan. He explains the name represents his desire to make chairmaking accessible to those without a full woodshop. The chair can be made with a handful of tools. We can also explore other ways to achieve similar results.
